Finally…. a few images from our mini vacation to Kelowna a few weeks ago. As usual we hit Canmore for a few days and I’m so glad we did – it’s just so peaceful and relaxing and makes for the most amazing natural backdrop!

I got to hang out with Baby A. and her family last week. I haven’t seen them in four months – they are on my Milestones plan and I love seeing how much everyone has changed since our last session. Baby A. is six months old and just the happiest baby in the league – so easy to photograph! Enjoy your images guys – here’s hoping we can snag Dad for a few next time!! The baby boom continues…and I’m a tad behind on the sneak peeks! Here are a few shots of little baby A. I swore he was going to be a girl, and he kind of suprised everyone when he turned out to be a he! So sweet and wicked hair, I got the pleasure of hanging out with him and his parents not once but twice! Thanks so much guys, your little one is awesome. Enjoy your images!

Baby K….only four days old and very easy to get a long with! We loved her little wrinkles, and had to highlight them in a few images as she probably won’t have them for long! Thanks for a great session you guys – I look forward to seeing you again. A huge shout out to Magda Kirkwood as well – great energy and great insight to make newborn sessions go even better…

Cute baby and toddler hats – I can’t get enough of these! I sometimes get requests from Etsy sellers to take shots of their products for their online shops. I am happy to do this as I love Etsy and have always found the most amazing handmade goodies from the various shops and I like supporting these entrepeneurs who are doing what they love (as am I). I recently received some beautiful baby and toddler hats from the wonderful Joni at Joni’s Creative Creations http://www.etsy.com/shop/JoniCrochetCreations. These hats are so sweet and my own girls instantly loved them. I’ve already used them for a session this week and they just look so cute! I was so impressed yesterday as the mom and I realized the hat we put on her little one was cotton and so soft. Check her shop out for a great selection of soft hats for your kids. Okay, get ready for an image heavy post! I was approached by Telus TV to do a profile on my business, specifically ‘How to Improve your Photography’ tips that are covered in the H.I.P workshop that I have been offering through Modern Mama (http://www.modernmama.ca). We shot the segment downtown with a few models and a mom, showing some tips and techniques to remember when taking everyday shots of your own kids. It was a really fun afternoon….though a bit chaotic! My youngest daughter was having one of those days and just wasn’t into TV cameras and having her picture taken. I ended up taking my girls back the next day so I could get some shots of them relaxed and having fun. Here’s some shots from the sequel to the Telus TV photo shoot! More about that later….

My apologies for neglecting my blog lately. I have been so busy catching up after out vacation and then caught the same stomach virus that everyone seems to have these days and that laid me out for quite a while! I’m back in motion now and all is well. I’ve done a newborn shoot recently, but mom and dad asked that I not share the images at this time. I do hope they change their mind – as there are some great shots.
I never did get around to posting some Mexico pictures, so here are some to kick off the warm weather outside!

Great news….a new date has been announced for the next How to Improve your Photography (HIP) Workshop! Mark your calendars….Saturday, April 24th from 1-4. This workshop has been designed specifically for individuals who would like to learn how to take better snapshots of their children. Topics include finding the light, engaging your subject and capturing the moment. Sorry for the absence, things have been very busy around here! More on that later…. Here is a sneak peek of Baby H. This little guy stole my heart, he is an absoloute dream! He is soft, squishy, snuggly and sweet and has a great head of hair to top it all off! Niki helped me with these shots and we found ourselves arguing over who got to snuggle the little guy, he was just that great. He brought along his super cool, laid back mom who was pretty sweet herself! Thanks so much for sticking it out with us two crazies and our branches, stumps and gauze! I loved taking H’s pictures and look forward to seeing him again very soon. Here are some of my faves from the session.

Another great session this weekend! Baby A. has 2 older adoring brothers (much like last week’s newborn!) and is sooooo girly! She is going to be very loved and well taken care of. She is 4 weeks old, so not the sleepiest squishiest baby anymore but she was very cooperative and gave us lots of great expressions! She slept peaceully with her brothers which turned into some of my new favourite shots! Thanks C. family, what a great day I had with all of you. I can’t wait to see you again in a few months for our next session…
