Great news….a new date has been announced for the next How to Improve your Photography (HIP) Workshop! Mark your calendars….Saturday, April 24th from 1-4. This workshop has been designed specifically for individuals who would like to learn how to take better snapshots of their children. Topics include finding the light, engaging your subject and capturing the moment. Another great session this weekend! Baby A. has 2 older adoring brothers (much like last week’s newborn!) and is sooooo girly! She is going to be very loved and well taken care of. She is 4 weeks old, so not the sleepiest squishiest baby anymore but she was very cooperative and gave us lots of great expressions! She slept peaceully with her brothers which turned into some of my new favourite shots! Thanks C. family, what a great day I had with all of you. I can’t wait to see you again in a few months for our next session…

I had a session with this little one year old and her family on Sunday. I had forgotten how much I love one year olds! And Miss J. was everything you would expect from a one year old, happy, energetic and a total ham! We had a great time just watching her do her thing. Thanks for the session guys – J. is so sweet!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the model call on Saturday. It was a beautiful day and the kids were all awesome! I forgot how much fun a toboggan on an ice rink can be…Here are a few highlights of the little cuties from Saturday!

OK, so I’m very excited to be providing photos for 3 covers of Edmonton’s Child Magazine this year. The magazine is great for families, it has tons of relevant articles and resources and is available pretty much anywhere (Sobeys, Safeway, London Drugs). So, for the next cover I am looking for some shots of kids doing winter activities! It doesn’t have to be your child actually doing the activity but at least looking like they are going to do that activity! Think skis perched beside your child, skates over the shoulder, toboggan….whatever you think. Even simple winter gear could work, I will bring a toboggan to use as well.
I will be taking models on Saturday, January 16, 2010 from 10:30-12:00. I will be at the legislative grounds, at the outdoor skating rink across from the parking lot on the South side of the grounds. You must be okay with signing a model release for your child stating I can use their photos for marketing purposes (web, blog, etc.) and for Edmonton’s Child Magazine. You will receive 1-3 web images of your child. These images are sized for emailing or facebook and are watermarked, so are not appropriate for printing.

We had a chance to go see the new studio recently. It’s still under construction but with any luck it will be completed by the end of January. I took a few shots of the girls while we were there, mostly to test the lighting. The windows are great and I think the brick wall has a lot of potential. I forgot how hard it is to get a two year old to cooperate so you may notice a lot more shots of the five year old who is an old pro at this by now!

You can only imagine how ecstatic I was to have two newborn sessions in one weekend. Truly an early Christmas gift for me, I just love babies so much. Here’s a sneek peak of my session with Baby C. on Sunday. She was another sweetie with a head full of silky hair and skin to die for…apparently she’s already somewhat of a fashionista and has some really awesome little poses she strikes with her hands! Thanks so much mom and dad (and my special 8 year old assistant/helper), I had a great time meeting you and your beautiful daughter!
