I got to hang out with Baby A. and her family last week. I haven’t seen them in four months – they are on my Milestones plan and I love seeing how much everyone has changed since our last session. Baby A. is six months old and just the happiest baby in the league – so easy to photograph! Enjoy your images guys – here’s hoping we can snag Dad for a few next time!! Baby K….only four days old and very easy to get a long with! We loved her little wrinkles, and had to highlight them in a few images as she probably won’t have them for long! Thanks for a great session you guys – I look forward to seeing you again. A huge shout out to Magda Kirkwood as well – great energy and great insight to make newborn sessions go even better…

Okay, get ready for an image heavy post! I was approached by Telus TV to do a profile on my business, specifically ‘How to Improve your Photography’ tips that are covered in the H.I.P workshop that I have been offering through Modern Mama (http://www.modernmama.ca). We shot the segment downtown with a few models and a mom, showing some tips and techniques to remember when taking everyday shots of your own kids. It was a really fun afternoon….though a bit chaotic! My youngest daughter was having one of those days and just wasn’t into TV cameras and having her picture taken. I ended up taking my girls back the next day so I could get some shots of them relaxed and having fun. Here’s some shots from the sequel to the Telus TV photo shoot! More about that later….

My apologies for neglecting my blog lately. I have been so busy catching up after out vacation and then caught the same stomach virus that everyone seems to have these days and that laid me out for quite a while! I’m back in motion now and all is well. I’ve done a newborn shoot recently, but mom and dad asked that I not share the images at this time. I do hope they change their mind – as there are some great shots.
I never did get around to posting some Mexico pictures, so here are some to kick off the warm weather outside!

Another baby waiting for me the day after we got back from Mexico! This little guy was an April Fools Baby, and only four days old when we met him. His mom was the lucky winner of the Modern Mama facebook contest, and with this being her third boy (and second April Fools Day baby) she was super laid back and easy going. Her and dad even grabbed a nap on the couch while we basked in Baby R.’s cuteness! He was the perfect little model, he slept the whole session and just naturally went into any pose we wanted. Another reason it is nice to get really fresh newborns….they sleep so soundly. Here are a few shots from our session, thanks again guys, your gallery will be up shortly!

I just realized this is my third ‘Baby A.’ in four weeks! This Baby A. is a boy, and a beautiful blue-eyed blondie at that. He looks exactly like his older brother – who is such a sweet little guy! Baby A. didn’t want much to do with sleeping on Saturday…mom tried everything! We did eventually get some great shots and apparently he’s been sleeping hard since he left our session. A huge thanks to Niki – my fabulous assistant who I’d be lost without! I’m working on securing her for all my newborn sessions, though I’m secretly worried she will end up having another baby as she’s pretty crazy for newborns. W. Family – thank you so much for sticking it out on Saturday. I know it was a long session, but I really enjoyed your company and you’re welcome here anytime! Enjoy the sneak peeks, your gallery will be up soon! I had to include this first image as I kind of thought it summed up a good portion of what our session was like!

Great news….a new date has been announced for the next How to Improve your Photography (HIP) Workshop! Mark your calendars….Saturday, April 24th from 1-4. This workshop has been designed specifically for individuals who would like to learn how to take better snapshots of their children. Topics include finding the light, engaging your subject and capturing the moment. Another great session this weekend! Baby A. has 2 older adoring brothers (much like last week’s newborn!) and is sooooo girly! She is going to be very loved and well taken care of. She is 4 weeks old, so not the sleepiest squishiest baby anymore but she was very cooperative and gave us lots of great expressions! She slept peaceully with her brothers which turned into some of my new favourite shots! Thanks C. family, what a great day I had with all of you. I can’t wait to see you again in a few months for our next session…

I had a session with this little one year old and her family on Sunday. I had forgotten how much I love one year olds! And Miss J. was everything you would expect from a one year old, happy, energetic and a total ham! We had a great time just watching her do her thing. Thanks for the session guys – J. is so sweet!
