Happy New Year everyone!  I am trying to catch up on all the sessions I have yet to blog about.  These are not really sneak peeks anymore but I do want to showcase them on my blog because these little ones deserve some air time.  Check out these newborn twins – brother and sister, just 4 days old when they came to see me.  They were absolutely precious and amazing to work with.  A huge shout out to my friend Stephanie who agreed last minute to come and help me out with the session.  It’s always a lot smoother to have extra hands when photographing twins – and Stephanie not only brings amazing calm energy to the table but she has twins of her own so is a multi tasking genius and somehow manages to keep up with what I’m thinking which is probably a bit disturbing!  This little ones came to us from out of town and actually live over 3 hours North of Edmonton – so a huge thanks to their parents for coming for a session and making it work despite all our last minute planning.  Everything worked out in the end and it was such a privilege to meet the 5 of you – I really enjoyed chatting with you and getting to know your family!  Enjoy your images…

Well, anyone who reads this blog is accustomed to every post starting with an apology – so why stop now.  I apologize for my lack of blogging and returning emails etc.  I have not found an assistant yet, and probably haven’t responded to the underwhelming amount of emails I received yet.  I am a bit behind as usual with clients and editing etc.  Plus we did manage to get away to Kelowna to hook up with my family over Thanksgiving which was wonderful – so priorities are constantly shifting.  Unfortunately,  Canmore has become somewhat of a blackhole for me – I manage to get a horrible migraine somewhere outside of town everytime we go there and this one has lasted 12 days despite a trip to emergency and every other method I know to break a headache.  This means looking at my computer makes me teary and I lose track of days – so I don’t always get a lot of work done during these stretches, but hopefully this will be over soon.

On to the good stuff.  Meet little Sadie.  Before I  show you the gorgeous shots of her – let me preface by saying rumor has it she looks exactly like me (oh, and her dad, my younger brother) did as a newborn.  And she is CUTE.  She also has a bit of a stubborn streak – not sure where she got that from?  She basically would only allow me to take her photos outside.  Remember that I take newborn’s photos pretty much every week – and I can tame most of them pretty quickly with my wicked ways.  Not Sadie.  She wasn’t buying anything I was selling – and when she saw me in Kelowna she started to cry.  But I know she really does love me!  Here are the shots of my little Island baby….

Studio Update….long over due

Posted on August 22, 2012

My apologies for ignoring my blog, Facebook page, website and everything else for so long.  I really am here and I am still working despite what creative stories may have surfaced!  I have been a bit sidelined with some health issues making it a bit difficult to book clients because I never know when I’m going to hit a tough patch and be out of commission – meaning my timelines are very unpredictable which is not the way I like to run my business.  For this reason, I am NOT booking any more clients for the rest of 2012 so that I can really focus on getting myself healthy.  Nothing serious – but I’m pretty sure if I don’t listen to my body on this one it could turn into something uglier since let’s face it, I’m no spring chicken.

So in the meantime – I have tons of gorgeous little ones to update to my blog and website, plus a new website in the works that should be launching sometime before November.  I am booking for 2013 now , so it’s never too early to send off an email if you are interested as I will not be taking as many clients per month.

I am also on the hunt for an assistant again!  If you know of anyone let me know.  I would love a young person, a university or college student would be great.  Someone who could help me one day a week with some communication, paper work, correspondence, deliveries, packaging, etc. would be amazing.  Of course if I could book sessions on the day my assistant was here – it’s always nice to have an assistant for sessions so this could be a great learning opportunity for someone wanting to get into the photography business.  Hiring someone will let me focus more on the creative side of my business which is what I really love to do (the administrative side….. not so much!).  I think I pay well and can be really flexible with days and times so if you think you know someone have them email me since one of my biggest problems is that I never seem to find time to return phone calls!!  I hope to be adding some new images soon and updating other things when I can – I really appreciate everyone’s patience and emails of well wishes over the last few months, I really do thank you for your support.

I will leave you with some fairly recent images of baby Rhys.  She is still the happiest little baby – and I am SO excited as I will be an Auntie again in a few weeks!  I will be flying out to Vancouver Island to photograph my new niece once she is born and cannot wait to get my first newborn shots by the ocean…….

It’s been an exciting few weeks around here.  We were thrilled to meet our newest member of the Wagner family on January 23rd.  Sweet little Rhys Lyric Gweneth – the most gorgeous little thing in the world.  I finally got a few images edited, there will be tons more to come I’m sure.  She is a dream to photograph.  She throws little smiles at me all the time – we couldn’t believe she was smiling while we did the little ‘potato sack’ pose.  We love her so much already – just holding her makes all your worries disappear.   And photographing my own niece lets me try new things and just go with what inspires me.  She truly has become my little muse already.  So finally, here are some images to introduce Baby Rhys! Congratulations Scott and Lee, you’re good at this.

I do apologize for the absence of late from my blog and business in general.  We were surprised a month early with a gorgeous little baby in the family and we’ve been spending as much time as we can visiting her in the hospital.  I kind of put things on hold for a week, plus my kids were sick and now I’m sick so so sorry for the delay!  If you did phone me last week – please email or phone me again.  I missed a few days somewhere last week!

Now on to Baby T.  I love this kid.  Really.  I saw her on a Sunday and the day before she had been to the Oilers Skills Contest all dressed up in her Oiler gear!  Her and her mom are total warriors, just love them.

And Baby T. was a dream to photograph.  Gorgeous skin, totally calm and patient…..just a dream.  Just look at those lips!!  K., I apologize for making you wait.  I hope you find some images you love, I will have your gallery to you shortly!

Allow me to introduce Baby O….a sweet little gem with lots of great hair and the most peaceful nature.  She was a dream to photograph (those lips!) and although she is a very alert baby, she was most cooperative and let us get the poses we wanted.  Sorry I could not get these up before Christmas as I had hoped.  O & A – enjoy your sneak peek and I will have your gallery ready for you shortly.  Congratulations again – you have a gorgeous little one to love forever!

Just finishing off a few last sessions before a little Christmas break.  Meet Little Miss A., 3 weeks old but she arrived a little early so was still under six pounds!  Such a petite, sleepy little sweetheart – she was an absolute joy to photograph.  It was lovely meeting all of you – I hope you enjoy your early Christmas surprise!  I will have all of your images ready shortly….

Okay, all that drama in the previous post and clearly I’ve done nothing to get my website or new blog up.  Sorry, don’t hold your breath, for some reason I always end up kicking it to the bottom of my long priority list.

But on to better things!  This is Baby W.  His dad does some work for me, I’m not sure how much information to give, somehow it ends up sounding shady.  Anyways, this little man has way cooler hair than his dad and runs a little on the spicy side.  He kind of gave us all a run for our money – but in the end, he cooperated (on his terms) and we got the shots we really wanted.  I like a little spice in a baby – we want our kids to be strong right?   J&R enjoy your images and I will get your gallery up ASAP so you can show the out of towners.  Thanks for coming over and being nice to me…
